Sculptra is FDA-approved to treat shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds, particularly nasolabial folds, in healthy adults. Its active ingredient, poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), works deep within the skin to stimulate collagen production. A typical treatment plan includes a series of injections spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart, with most patients receiving 2-3 sessions. Unlike traditional fillers, Sculptra’s results develop gradually over a few months and can last up to two years or more. In addition to facial rejuvenation, Sculptra is often used off-label for body contouring, such as enhancing the buttocks or reducing the appearance of cellulite.
