What is Permanent Makeup?

Also known as micropigmentation or cosmetic tattooing, permanent makeup enhances facial features by implanting pigment into the skin, eliminating the need for daily makeup application. It’s ideal for those with allergies to conventional cosmetics or difficulty applying makeup. Popular treatments include microblading or powdered brows, lip liner and lip color, offering long-lasting definition that won’t smudge or smear.

How It Works

Permanent makeup is applied using either a handheld tool (as in microblading) or a machine (for ombré/powder brows and lips). Microblading creates realistic, hair-like strokes for a natural brow look, while powder brows provide a soft, makeup-like effect. Lip treatments improve shape, symmetry, and color. Your technician will recommend the best method for your features and goals. A $100 deposit is required to schedule your appointment, and certain medications and supplements should be stopped prior to treatment for safety and optimal healing.

Recovery and Results

After the procedure, pigment will appear darker and bolder, then gradually soften as the skin heals. A follow-up visit 4–6 weeks post-treatment is recommended to make adjustments and perfect the results. Mild swelling or redness may occur. Over time, permanent makeup can fade, so maintenance sessions every few years help keep your results fresh. To ensure proper healing, avoid alcohol and caffeine before treatment, and discontinue use of exfoliants, retinoids, and lash or brow serums well in advance.
