Fat Transfer

What is Fat Transfer?

Fat transfer, also known as structural autologous fat transfer, uses your own body’s fat—typically harvested from the abdomen or flanks—to restore volume in areas like smile lines, hollow cheeks, under-eye depressions, and even the backs of the hands or lips. Because it’s your own tissue, it’s the safest and longest-lasting injectable filler option. As microdroplets of fat are grafted into targeted facial layers, they establish new blood supply over time to maintain volume.

How It Works

First, fat is gently harvested using a specialized cannula that separates fat from excess fluids. This purified fat is then injected with precision into the areas of volume loss using small, layered microdroplet techniques. Once in place, the fat establishes its own blood supply from surrounding tissues, ensuring long-term integration.

Recovery and Aftercare

Recovery is generally smooth, with mild swelling or bruising at both donor and injection sites that settle within a few days. Routine activities can usually be resumed quickly, though it’s wise to avoid strenuous exertion for a short period. Many patients enjoy sustained natural volume enhancement that can last for years.
