CoolSculpting: Approved by FDA for More Areas in Time for Summer

We all know that fat can collect in a variety of places on our bodies. Areas of common complaint include the lower belly, the thighs, and below the chin. Coolsculpting has been approved by the FDA for use on all of these areas and many people have enjoyed excellent results from this noninvasive technique. But now we’re happy to report that additional areas of the body have been added to the FDA-approved list for Coolscuplting: areas around bra straps, the back, and beneath the buttocks.

Coolsculpting was approved by the FDA in 2014 and has been an impressive tool in our arsenal for permanently removing unwanted fat in a noninvasive way. Patients who already have a healthy diet and exercise practice but still struggle to eliminate stubborn areas of fat are ideal candidates for this procedure.

This safe procedure is less invasive than liposuction, and often a better choice for patients with small but persistent fat deposits on their belly, above their hips (love handles), under their chin (double chin), and now specific areas of the back and buttocks.

Everyone wants to look their best from all angles, particularly during swimsuit season when all of our flaws would otherwise be on display. If you already have a healthy diet and exercise regularly, but struggle with persistent fat deposits, Coolsculpting could be the answer to getting bikini ready this summer.

What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a nonsurgical, FDA-approved procedure that freezes fat cells. It’s an excellent choice for contouring a body’s shape because there is little or no downtime, limited potential for side effects, and offers permanent results.

How Does it Work?

Working with your doctor, select the areas to be treated and then, using a device, your doctor will freeze the fat cells in those areas. Freezing kills the fat cells, which your body will naturally process and discard over time.

Is it Painful?

No. You may experience some discomfort in the form of pressure and intense cold but it only lasts a few minutes.

How Long Does it Take to See Results?

Many patients will see results in as little as three weeks after the last treatment, but almost everyone will experience a noticeable change after two months.
